Meet Oliver Grimm, a former soldier who transitioned from military service to the world oftechnology. With 12 years in the armed forces, he made the leap to business informatics,merging discipline with technical expertise. Now a valued member of iC Consult, Oliver’sexperiences enhance our team. Again: Welcome, Oliver! But let’s take a step back and havea look at your journey to iC Consult.

The Interview – “Will I fit in?”

Oliver, with his unique background, was a bit nervous about fitting in. However, hisinterview experience changed that. He said, “Stefan Hauger, Regional Manager of GermanySouth, Oliver Paulzen, Head of Center of Excellence for One Identity, and Martin Diener, IAMLead Consultant, were super friendly. The discussion wasn’t purely factual; we also hadgenuine moments with laughs, I really felt great.” During the conversation, the idea of ahome office contract was also introduced, promising work-life-balance benefits. And hispersonal highlight? Oliver received a contract within a week!

Starting Strong

From day one, Oliver felt comfortable: “The IT department let me choose my laptop andsmartphone to tackle challenges ahead. There were hardly any restrictions, and as a techenthusiast, I went for high-end products – absolutely fantastic.” This, along with thefreedom to use them privately, made him feel valued. On his first day in Munich, the warmteam welcome reinforced that feeling.

At iC Consult, connections matter. Oliver emphasizes, “Regular events help newcomers likeme connect with colleagues.” For example, the 3-day bootcamp, which provides intensivetraining on Identity & Access Management (IAM) and cutting-edge technologies to ensure a strong start.

Stepping into Identity Management

Currently, Oliver is working on an Identity Management project at one of Germany’s largestautomotive manufacturers: “The varied tasks and the opportunity to organize releasesmake my day-to-day work exciting and diverse.” Here, iC Consult’s comprehensiveonboarding fostered Oliver’s technical skills, such as our University Program, which ensuresa smooth onboarding process and provides customized training, mentoring and events fornew members.
